Please Swim Between the Flags

In recent weeks, Queensland has experienced a heartbreaking number of drownings - a stark reminder to everyone visiting the beach this Summer to always swim between the flags.

Our amazing Patrol Captains, that watch over this beautiful stretch of beach here at Marcoola, have joined together to spread this important message – if we can’t see you, we can’t save you.

Each weekend they are here with their teams, making sure you have a safe place to swim.

There are lots of little sweeps and rips popping up along the beach at the moment that can catch anyone off guard. So please, make the effort and swim between the flags.

It’s the simplest thing you can do, to help us keep you and your family safe – so everyone goes home at the end of the day

🎄 Our Annual Christmas Giving Drive is Here! 🎁
This wonderful event continues to thrive thanks to our amazing members and the supportive Sunshine Coast community. Together, we can brighten the holidays for children, teens, and families right here at home. ❤️
We’re collecting:
✨ Unwrapped toys or gift vouchers suitable for children and teenagers in foster care
✨ Packaged, non-perishable food to support local families
Your donations stay local and go directly to Sunshine Coast organisations that do incredible work supporting those in need.
A few important notes:
🎁 Please do not wrap gifts. This allows carers to ensure they’re appropriate for each child’s age and needs.
🎟️ Gift vouchers are especially appreciated for older youth, who can be a little harder to buy for!
🥫 No perishable items, please.
🎄 Think festive! Everyone deserves a Christmas treat, so consider adding something special to your food donations.
Gift distribution will be managed by IFYS, whose mission is to provide supportive environments for children, young people, and families.
Food hampers will be delivered through The Shack in Nambour, a community-focused centre helping individuals and families during the holidays.
Let’s come together again this year to spread joy, hope, and kindness.

Looking for a meaningful way to kick off the new year? Marcoola Surf Life Saving Club is welcoming new members to join our January School Holiday Surf Rescue Certificate and Bronze Medallion course - the perfect pathway to becoming a patrolling lifesaver!

Whether you’re new to surf lifesaving or ready to step up your skills, this course is ideal for anyone wanting to:

Marcoola Surf Life Saving Club is looking for new members to join our team - there's a role for everyone and you don’t have to get in the water to contribute!

We have upcoming First Aid and Radio & Observers courses - perfect for anyone who wants to:

✅ Learn life-saving skills
✅ Support patrols from the beach or the radio tower
✅ Be part of a great local friendly community
✅ Gain valuable qualifications
✅ Enjoy great patrol member benefits

Whether you’re keen to help on the radio, assist with first aid, or just get involved in a positive, community-focused team - we’d love to have you on board.

First Aid Sunday 16 November 7am to 2pm or
Radio & Observers Sunday 16 November 8am to 12 noon

🏖️ The flags are up at Marcoola Beach this weekend! 🚩🌊 From this Saturday 20 September, our awesome Marcoola SLSC volunteer lifesavers are back on duty from 7am to 5pm every weekend and public holiday until May 2026! 🙌☀️

A huge shoutout to our incredible crew of volunteers 👏 Thank you for keeping our beach safe and looking out for both locals and visitors alike - you're absolute legends! 💛 ❤️ 💪 Looking forward to seeing you all on the beach this season, enjoy the sun, sand and surf safely and as always – please remember to swim between the red and yellow flags 🚩💦

We have Nipper Sign-on for our new Nipper families, Lifesaver Sign-on for any new recruits wanting to join the Club & become a Lifesaver, a Youth Bake Sale & a Boaties Sausage Sizzle! It's all happening!!
