Pentecost - with Jesus having accomplished all he came to do, has returned to the Father.
However, he promised his followers that he would not leave them alone, but would send the Spirit to be with. Everywher. At all times.

Pentecost celebrates the coming of the Holy Spirit, as told to us in Acts chapter 2.
People from all places across the middle east, and beyond, were gathered. And found unity in the Spirit.

Join us Sunday at 10.00am as we enter afresh into this story, and fill out hearts with the love God bestows on us, by the Spirit.

Red is the symbol of fire and warmth, and is the colour associated with Pentecost.
Rev Ian Ian Robert Oates will be with us to lead us, having experienced how the Spirit works during mission service in Tanzania, as well as here in Australia.

Unity. May they be one.
It's the prayer of Jesus for those who follow.
Maybe he knew how easy it is to divide, to break off, to separate. Rather than work things through. The church has gone down this track far too often.
Unity is not grounded in sameness, but a common heart and mind and spirit.
Unity is gift, yet also work.

As we meet around the Lord's table tomorrow at 10.00, the call to such unity is our theme.
May you feel invited to join the movement...

A funeral service for Phyllis (Phyl) Dryden is being held this Friday May 15 at 11.00am, at St Aidan's.
A former dedicated member of our church community, especially utilising her musical gifts, it is fitting to be able to remember and honour her life's journey. She was 93 years old.
