WHEN THE TRUMPET SOUNDS, WILL YOUR HEART BE READY?

Blessed Feast of Trumpets!
Yom Teruah • Rosh Hashanah
(September 11–13, 2026)

Tonight, as the sun sets and the Jewish community begins the Feast of Trumpets, we are reminded of something sobering: A trumpet is a call to wake up.

It is a call to remember, to return, to examine the heart.

A call to prepare.

The Feast of Trumpets begins the Ten Days of Awe, leading toward Yom Kippur: the Day of Atonement. It is a season marked by reflection, repentance, and turning again toward God.

And while Christians are not under the Old Covenant ceremonial requirements, there is something deeply significant we can pause and reflect upon: Are we awake?

Not merely awake to the news, or to what is happening in the world. Not merely awake to prophecy, wars, disasters, or the signs of the times.

But, Are we awake to God?

Have we become so familiar with church that we have forgotten His presence? Have we become so busy serving Him that we have stopped sitting at His feet? Have we learned how to look spiritual while secretly becoming cold? Have we been watching for the signs while failing to watch over our own hearts?

The trumpet reminds us: Don't just watch the world. Watch your heart...

Jesus repeatedly told His disciples to watch and pray. Because one day, there will be a sound that will not be symbolic.

There will be a trumpet, a gathering, a moment when preparation is no longer possible. And the question will not be: "Did you know about His coming?" But: "Were you ready for Him?"

The trumpet is a beautiful reminder that history is moving toward God's appointed purposes. And for those who belong to Christ, His coming should not produce terror, it should produce longing.

Yes, we cry out Lord: "Even so, come, Lord Jesus." and until that day comes, let us not waste the waiting, let us repent while there is still time, let us forgive while there is still time, let us reconcile while there is still time.

Let us return to the secret place, put away compromise, stop playing church. Let us stop protecting our image and start guarding our hearts. Let us become less fascinated with the platform and more desperate for His presence.

The greatest preparation for the coming King is not knowing more about the end times...it is truly knowing, obeying and loving knowing the King.

So tonight, as the Feast of Trumpets begins, may the sound of the trumpet stir something deep within us: Wake up, Church, return, my heart, repent, my soul. Look up, believer.

The King is coming and may our cry not be, "Lord, give me more time to prepare." But, "Lord, I have been waiting for You." ❤️‍🔥

Come and join us at the Church Prayer Meeting TONIGHT, Wed 9th Sept at 6:30pm.

Colossians 1:3-6
We always pray for you, and we give thanks to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. For we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and your love for all of God's people, which come from your confident hope of what God has reserved for you in heaven. You have had this expectation ever since you first heard the truth of the Good News.
This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God's wonderful grace.

🙏🙏🙏

The greatest blessing isn’t having everything, it’s having a family that knows Jesus, walks with Him, and passes that faith on to the next generation.

Sometimes we expect God to move only through the extraordinary—the loud miracles, the big moments, the dramatic answers.

But throughout Scripture, God often chose the ordinary.

Places people would overlook… yet places where Heaven touched earth.

Never underestimate what God can do in the ordinary places of your life.
He still meets people in unexpected moments, unexpected seasons, and unexpected places.

The same God who moved there can move in your life too. 🤍🙏🏻
