Last week, I had the joy of joining the Chatswood Presbyterian Connect Women’s Bible Study group to share about the MTS–MTW Ministry Apprenticeships for Women.

It was a delight to enjoy warm fellowship with the women at Chatswood Presbyterian Church () and to celebrate the opportunities God is giving women—across different ages and stages of life—to undertake flexible ministry apprenticeships while receiving women-focused ministry training and formation.

We’re so thankful to be partnering with Carmelina Read and Christ College in offering the MTW Course within an MTS ministry apprenticeship, and we look forward to seeing the new cohort of apprentices engaging in this course in 2026 and beyond!

The MTW–MTS In Focus event was an exciting launch of a vision to equip women of all ages and life stages for gospel ministry. Seeing apprentices, trainers, and supporters engaged and inspired affirmed that God is already using this initiative to multiply gospel workers.

I never expected to end up in a national role with MTS. But reflecting back, as I chatted with Ngaire Buckley (Crossbeam Communications) there was a clear thread running through my story: a deep conviction that gospel ministry is something to be shared and multiplied.

For Angela Prentice, her journey into vocational ministry has been shaped by a strong desire to be well-trained for gospel work. Starting with involvement in the RMIT Christian Union, she progressed through a ministry apprenticeship to gain practical experience. Now in a full-time role at Laneway Church, Angela invests in training others, mentoring apprentices and team leaders to help raise up the next generation of faithful gospel workers.

“During my apprenticeship, it really formed my ministry philosophy and my understanding of what gospel work looks like and what it means,” Angela shares. “I think it's really just about helping people know Jesus and love him and grow in him. And that was definitely something that I was so keen to do for the rest of my life.”
