What if instead of focusing just on what your baby needs you focused on yourself?

What if you gave yourself permission to be held, seen, nurtured and loved?

What if the sleepless nights, busy days, restless and anxious moments felt more peaceful?

What if even through all the chaos you felt grounded within?

The initiation into Motherhood can feel overwhelming for many reasons, and so often we are quick to focus outside of ourselves to find a sense of calm and control.

But Mumma you were made for this, all you need is to turn the lens within , back to yourself.

For an each week I’ll be holding space at .southport for you to reconnect with yourself, to feel heard, to feel seen, to release what needs to be shed, to tap in to your true innate power of the Mother within you.

Through a nurturing, safe, low stimulation environment we will join in circle to breath, connect with our bodies, be there for ourselves so that we can give the love and nurturing we desire to our baby.

This circle is for mothers to be and mothers with baby’s up to 5 months (pre-crawling), if you have an older baby you are welcome to join solo if you have support to be with your baby while you attend.

Suppressed emotions = trapped energy, by feeling our emotions we can move the energy and release it from the body helping to relieve physical symptoms 👏🏼

➡️The physical symptoms we express of pain and discomfort within our body is the body’s universal language of letting us know there is something to be addressed within.

Most of us however as so conditioned and used to viewing this pain as bad or a problem that we quickly seek external solutions that act as temporary band aids to the deeper root cause of the pain.

🌟Addressing the body’s physical needs through nutrition and movement is necessary however if that’s the only level that is being addressed the symptoms youre are experiencing will continue to show up.

5 steps to FEEL your emotions rather than suppress them 👇🏼

1️⃣Create a safe space for yourself, go for a walk to your favourite place, sit in your favourite room, whatever it looks like to you - this might also look like working with someone you feel safe with until you have developed the safety within to feel your emotions

2️⃣Breathe, take a concious breath in to the belly, and fully out. Repeat 3-5 times. Then bring the breath back to your regular , become aware of the your thoughts and anytime your mind takes over come back to you breath.

3️⃣Notice any tension in your body and continue to breathe into that space

4️⃣Allow your body to express as it needs too- this might be tears, a scream, stamping, shaking. Whatever it is allow it to be

5️⃣Come back to your breathe, be with yourself for as long as you feel comfortable .

My mantra is Face IT, FEEL IT, FREE IT
Meaning, face the feeling you’ve been trying to avoid , let it pass through you and then get on with your day ✨

Remember that feelings are emotions- energy in motion, they are like the waves of the ocean , some big, some small, they come and they go. As you express them you are releasing the trapped energy and clearing your physical container (your body). ❤️❤️

What if your PCOS, your fertility struggles, your hurt and pain was the gateway to your power? To creating the life you truly desire? What if all the pain was actually leading you to your purpose?

In 2018 when I was diagnosed with PCOS. I dove deep into study and research to fix my body. The medical system and modern health care leads many of us (myself included) to address the body’s physical needs to help PCOS symptoms improve. While these are important, they are only addressing one element, at the surface of the condition.

I gained a sense of control focusing on my physical needs (nutrition/exercise)but it wasn’t long before the overwhelm of constantly thinking about what I had to do and forcing myself out of fear, became too much.

I broke down- It was also my first breakthrough.

I allowed myself some space to get curious on listening to my intuition, making movement and food more intuitive and less restrictive. I worked on my thoughts and inner self talk to change my habits to be more fluid rather than regimented.

Then in 2020 I fell pregnant after regaining a natural regular cycle.

Some would say well, you’ve healed your fertility why go any deeper? But the foundation of healing that got me to this point was only getting me that far.

In 2021 I became a mother. My ability to control my external world drastically changed and more of my deeper core wounds were revealed. I had been masking them with coping mechanisms. Doing all the right things to keep myself feeling somewhat safe, safe enough to regain a period but the anxiety and feelings of not being good enough were still there- among other deep wounds.

Here is where the true healing began. As I faced the deeper pain and learnt to FEEL and RELEASE the emotions I had learnt to suppress from childhood and restore energetic blocks, my whole life transformed.

I went from high functioning anxiety, resenting my body, and femininity to feeling EMPOWERED as a woman. Deeply connected within my own body, trusting my intuition. This came from connecting back to my womb space.

Our womb holds our power to create, when we heal from within we regain our true power.

PCOS is the gift, the opportunity to awaken you and call you back to your true self. To create the life you truly desire and experience the joy and magic of life. Will you take the opportunity? ❤️

Instead of thinking of food as ‘good’ or ‘bad’ I like to think ‘how it is going to serve or impact my body?

That doesn’t mean you have to cut out all the foods that aren’t going to help your body but, it does help me to make a conscious effort to include more foods that are going to help your body feel better 👏🏼
Inflammation is a natural process that helps our body heal and defend itself from harm. But, having PCOS often means your body is in a state of chronic inflammation, where your body’s immune system is constantly on and ready to fight. The foods we consume can either feed or fight the inflammation.
Inflammation is also a precursor to insulin resistance, when insulin levels are higher than they should be this triggers the ovaries to produce more testosterone, interrupting or preventing ovulation - a common symptom with PCOS
WHAT CAUSES INFLAMMATION ?⤵️⤵️
Inflammation is hugely influenced by what we eat. Highly processed, sugary foods or inflammatory foods like gluten and dairy if you are sensitive or allergic , cause the become inflamed. Stress and environmental toxins also contribute to inflammation
HOW TO REDUCE INFLAMMATION ✅
💫What we choose to eat really does matter. Anti-inflammatory foods like the examples above, are more nutrient dense, they nourish our bodies. They include antioxidants, vitamins and minerals that help protect our bodies
💫Manage stress, it can be easier said than done but it is so important
💫Reduce exposure to environmental toxins. These are the products we use like makeup, deodorants, tampons, house hold cleaners

Most common reasons for craving (you’re not just lacking will power cys) ⬇️⬇️
⚠️Blood sugar imbalances- eating too many carbs for your carb tolerance, too little carbs or waiting long periods between meals can cause blood sugar levels to spike and the drop.
⚠️Lack of sleep- Two hormones that help regulate hunger. When we are sleep deprived, the level of ghrelin spikes, while the level of leptin falls, leading to an increase in hunger and cravings.
⚠️Stress- Excess cortisol released when stressed can contribute to increased cravings.
❤️Menstrual cycle phase- changes in the levels of the estrogen and progesterone cause increase cravings for foods rich in carbohydrates and sugars before your period.
Now its time to learn how to understand what triggers your cravings, so that you can honor your body and feel less out of control!
Take notice of when your cravings pop up, this is a message, a clue from your body that you can use to start implementing helpful habits to help reduce the intensity of your cravings.
