A big congratulations to Cooper on his win in the Nursery at the Eugowra Utility Dog Trial over the weekend 👏

Taking out 1st place in the Sunday Nursery event is a fantastic achievement and a great reward for the time and effort that goes into training.

It’s great to see this event in Eugowra continue to showcase the skill, patience and stockmanship involved when working with dogs and livestock, and even better to see our team involved and doing well. Thank you to all involved in the running of this event.

Today we will say a final farewell to Joan Herbert, Andrew’s mother. Joan (or Gran as she was known) moved to Gundamain in 1958 after marrying Don. She lived at Gundamain for over 65 years and spent her last four years at Jemalong retirement village with the most wonderful care. Joan is remembered for her cooking, gardening, tenacious nature, and loving her family fiercely. Joan will leave a large space in our hearts at Gundamain and we will not forget the stamp she made on this place in her 99 years of life.
Please if you are in Eugowra today join us to farewell Joan at 2:00pm at the Community Hall, Eugowra Showgrounds.

Gundamain is looking to add someone to our administration team!

If you have an interest in agriculture and enjoy working in a structured, organised environment, this position could be for you. Gundamain is located near the beautiful town of Eugowra in Central West NSW.

This role will initially cover Carlie’s long-service leave (she is off for 3 months travelling Australia!). However, if the fit is right this can be ongoing. This position provides flexibility so can work around school/ childcare/ university hours if needed.

The role includes:
Record keeping
Livestock and commodity administration and movement recording
Working with eLynx systems (StockAid, FY3000, FYWeigh, FeedBunk3000)
Compliance monitoring
General office duties and team support

We provide:

Above award wages (remuneration dependent on experience)

We require you to:
Have a strong work ethic
Be organised with good attention to detail
Be confident using computers and willing to learn new systems

This position is part of a hardworking and supportive team and plays an important role in the day-to-day operations of the business.

WE ARE HIRING
PEN RIDER/ LIVESTOCK HAND

Gundamain is looking to add someone to our livestock team! If you have an interest in cattle and horses this is the position for you. Gundamain is a family-owned agricultural operation in Eugowra, Central West NSW. Gundamain consists of a 6000 head licensed cattle feedlot, with farming land for cropping, backgrounding, prime lamb production and an Angus breeding herd.
Our vision is to continue to be a fully sustainable, adaptive, and resilient intergenerational agribusiness producing high quality food and fibre. In addition our values prioritise our community, our people and their safety while providing respect for and care of the land and our animals.

Gundamain is seeking someone with a passion for cattle and their health. The role includes pen riding, yard work, hospital, mustering, and general health checks.

We provide:
On the job training
Ability to keep horses on-site
Horse feed and care (Lucerne hay, farrier, chiro, Equi-scener, dentist, worming etc).
Monday- Friday roster, one weekend worked a month with four days off the following week
Accomodation (if required)
Job stability with the opportunity to grow within the business.
Above award wages (remuneration is dependant on experience).
A fortnightly horse and saddle allowance.

We require you to:
Have a strong work ethic
Work well within a team
Have two sound horses ready to work
Have a strong animal welfare ethic for both horses and cattle
Have sound riding skills

This position is in a fun, hardworking team. We will be very sad to see one of our team members move North.

Proud to see some of our livestock team on the front page of The Land this week, highlighting what so many farmers already know- animals still need care, even on Christmas 🎄🐂.
Huge thanks to our crew who will show up tomorrow on Christmas Day, and thanks to our entire team for showing up every day in between.
