On 8th September 2026, MOCMV delegates Dejan Zmejkoski and Robert Kostovski celebrated 35 years of Independence of Macedonia and met with new Ambassador Stojance Kitanoski in the Macedonian Embassy in Canberra. Thank you to Mr. Petar Chulev for organising the event and allowing us to come together from all over Australia and welcome our new Ambassador.

MOCMV would like to give our congratulations to Archimandrite Fr. Gavril Galev Otec Gavril on his awards and recognition by the Victorian government and Macedonian community groups. It's good to see your hard work in the community has been recognised.

Our Ilinden Commemoration 2026 was a huge success thanks to the many attendees, honoured guest speakers, our Sveti Georgij Presveta Bogorodica Choir and the tireless efforts of our MOCMV Events Team, Father Kliment Stankovski and priceless volunteers. A big thank you to all involved. This year we had speeches from Macedonian Vice-Consul Silvana Ivanovska, Federation of Macedonian Cultural Artistic Associations of Victoria President George Lambeski, poetry recital by Literary Association Koco Racin. The attendees were also treated to a heart melting performance by the MKUD Svetlost juniors and got to enjoy the activities including the ever popular petting zoo. Thank you to Goce from Laurimar Quality Meats for his assistance in making this years BBQ the best yet and to Macedonian Orthodox Youth of Australia for providing coffee and sweets. Finally, thank you to all organisations and individuals who laid wreaths in memory of our ancestors who fought for our freedom. We hope to see you all next year!

The Australian Census is coming up very soon. It is very important for our voice to be heard and properly recorded. Please take care when filling out the Census. Our MOCMV General Committee is organising volunteers to help out our elderly and those that need assistance in filling out the Census at the Macedonian Cultural Centre 514 High Street Epping next weekend. Stay tuned for details!

The MOCMV would like to extend the sincerest condolences to the family of Father Chedomir and the Macedonian Community of Geelong. A truly great man who played a key role in the lives of many Macedonians in Geelong and Victoria. May God grant his soul eternal peace. Bog da go prosti.

On Tuesday 12th May 2026, MKUD Svetlost held their first training session on MOCMV grounds in over a decade. The hall in the Macedonian Cultural Centre was fittingly the backdrop for this historic occasion. We wish to thank everyone who supported in making all of this possible and are looking forward to more collaboration in the future.

On the 6th May 2026 on the feast of St George, our Community celebrated the feast day of our Church St George and St Mary Mother of God in Epping. After holy Liturgy was served, a lunch was held for the members and parishioners in attendance in the hall of the Macedonian Cultural Centre. Thank you to our hard working volunteers who put everything together especially our talented MOCMV Events Team! We would also like to thank La Cantina Catering for their wonderful food and kind donation and also Sophie Soklevski and Tobin Brothers Funerals for their kind donation for the feast as well.
