FAITH & ASTONISHED
People were often astonished at what Jesus said and did. This indicates they weren’t expecting these things to happen.
Jesus tells us if we have faith and doubt not, we can expect miracles, even if those around us aren’t expecting them.
People today are often astonished when you pray for them in faith and your prayer is answered.

Mark 5:41-42 KJV
[41] And he (Jesus) took the damsel by the hand, and said unto her, Talitha cumi; which is, being interpreted, Damsel, I say unto thee, arise. [42] And straightway the damsel arose, and walked; for she was of the age of twelve years. And they were astonished with a great astonishment.

Mark 7:32-37 KJV
[32] And they bring unto him one that was deaf, and had an impediment in his speech; and they beseech him to put his hand upon him. [33] And he took him aside from the multitude, and put his fingers into his ears, and he spit, and touched his tongue; [34] and looking up to heaven, he sighed, and saith unto him, Ephphatha, that is, Be opened. [35] And straightway his ears were opened, and the string of his tongue was loosed, and he spake plain. [40] Him God raised up on the third day, and showed Him openly, [41] not to all the people, but to witnesses chosen before by God, even to us who ate and drank with Him after He arose from the dead. CONFIRMATION THAT RECEIVING THE GOSPEL IS WHAT HAPPENED IN ACTS 2:4

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins. and preached, saying, There cometh one mightier than I after me, the latchet of whose shoes I am not worthy to stoop down and unloose. I indeed have baptized you with water: but he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost.
Mark 1:4‭, ‬7‭-‬8
Jesus fully endorsed what John the Baptist said calling him the greatest prophet.
and Jesus talks about the same things
and (Jesus) saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.
Mark 1:15
When therefore the Lord knew how the Pharisees had heard that Jesus made and baptized more disciples than John, (though Jesus himself baptized not, but his disciples,)

This is a consistent message throughout the gospels and Acts
John the Baptist's statement about Holy Spirit baptism is repeated 6 times.
When Paul's letter were written decades later Paul Peter and the rest were in agreement about what to preach for salvation.
And I went up by revelation, and communicated unto them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them which were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain. but contrariwise, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed unto me, as the gospel of the circumcision was unto Peter; and when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go unto the heathen, and they unto the circumcision.

My Story
When I was a teenager I had a girlfriend who was a took me to several Christian meetings
but I was more interested in going out with my friends drinking and partying I split up with that girl and became very anti all things to do with religion. Later in my 20s I was into karate then later kickboxing My picture appeared on the front cover of the magazine produced by the organization I worked for.
Without me knowing a Christian named Jim was working with a high school friend of mine and my mate Andrew (Bear) was telling Jim about me.
Jim thought I looked so aggressive he decided to pray for me That was in 1989

Over the next 6 years my life changed I left that job. A serious girlfriend came and went and left me a mess
I decided to go fruit picking in Mildura (9 hours drive from home) for a few months but stayed for a couple of years.
By this time I had changed my life view significantly I was curious about things I didn't understand like diet meditation Eastern philosophys and God. I had a friend named Bryn who I'd met fruitpicking and we used to have long discussions about religion and God but I couldn't understand why he believed in God
Then I decided I would go fruit picking around Australia
I headed north I stopped in Brisbane and bought a book titled evolution verse Creation which I was planning to read but never got around to it.
Then I went to Bowen and started working at first I was working with drinkers and ma*****na smokers and I hung out with them and did what they did
Later I decided I was sick of that type of lifestyle and somewhere along the line I bought a new testament Bible from a second hand shop which I was planning to read to see what all the fuss was about.
About 2 weeks later I met Wayne on a weekend trip to Townsville (2 hours north) and after I found out that he was a Christian, I started asking him a lot of questions about what he believed in.

He answered my questions and gave me a flyer with 5 columns of Bible verse
They were on Water Baptism, Holy Spirit, Speaking in tongues, Healing and Jesus return.

I didn't understand any of it but became more curious.
Wayne told me he spoke in tongues everyday which I found intriguing.
Wayne invited me to go to a Christmas camp with his church which was back in Bowen where I had been staying.
I thought I'll go and meet Waynes friends maybe spend a couple of days with them and then I'll be off.
When I got their someone asked me if I wanted to get baptised and I said “I don't know”
I met one of the Pastors who talked to me more and I decided what have I got to lose by giving it a try.

So we arranged that I was going to get baptised (dipped) in water the next day.
I went to a church meeting the following morning and at the end of the meeting the pastor whod spoke to me the day before took me aside to have some prayer.

He encouraged me to say hallelujah out loud and in my heart to ask for the Holy Spirit.
Within a couple of minutes something happened instead of saying hallelujah I started to speak in a new language but what I felt was as if someone had opened up my head and tipped joy in there. I couldn't believe how good I felt. And that feeling of euphoria lasted for weeks and even when I came back to earth I knew my life was forever changed and I didn't want to go back to my old life.

I didn't know much about the Bible, but one thing I knew was that God had done it, and suddenly I knew God was real and that He loved me.

That was the beginning of a new life for me, I was so excited and couldn't wait to tell people what had happened to me and how they could get it too.

I was filled with desire to do all the things that I wasn't interested in before like pray, read the Bible and talk to other Christians about their experience and talk to others about my experience.

There is a lot more to this story and I would be happy to tell you more.
I am so thankful that Jim took the time to pray for me, thankful for Bryn for those long discussions which aroused my curiosity. Thankful to Wayne who gave me a simple flyer and invited me to the camp, Thankful to Pastor David who prayed with me when I received the Holy Spirit and guided me in my first steps as a new Christian but mostly thankful to God and Jesus who organised the whole thing and changed me from being aggressively against all things religious to being curious and wanting to know more.

If you haven't had this experience of receiving the Holy Spirit yet then I'm happy to tell you that it is promised to everyone. Jesus said everyone who asks will receive which is an amazing promise He also promises healing for our bodys, freedom from addictions and a sound mind with no issues at all

The pouring out of the Spirit of God first became available in Acts 2:4 and continues today unchanged.

Onyi's testimony

Onyi first contacted me on 26th January this year
I asked hime if He had recieved Holy Spirit
He aaid he knew nothing about Holy Spirit
He recieved Holy Spirit straightaway after i shared some teaching.
Immediately he spoke in tongues and started doing visitations sharing what he had learned and heling people and praying with them to receive Holy spirit
When it was raining he would stay home and spend the time in prayer.

I have a testimony of today the book of Jeremiah 30:17 ...Says for i will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds, says the Lord ... While I was passing through the street, I met a man with his family who was going to the Hospital. The man had cancer and was going for an operation in the stomach had feeling alot of pain. I stopped and spoke with them and told him that God is a healer. I prayed for healing in Jesus name. And the man testified that can not feel any pain..

I encouraged him to believe in God and for the check-up. We started a journey going to hospital together. When the doctor examined him . They said there was no cancer. The man was very happy thanking me to heal him but I said to him I am not me healed you is our living God. He is the one have power to heal.

The man testified has no pain in the stomach @ All glory and honor belongs to God for is powerful work

During my visitation, i entered the house of a women who had suffered for long time. She had a serious problem with her legs and could not walk for about two years. I spent the whole day with her, from morning until evering, encouraging her with the word of God and praying for her healing.
By the grace of God, the Lord answered the prayer and healed her. She was able to walk again because God had restored from bed and walk. And explained to him about how God is working to people and was really happy and thankful 🙏🙏
This miracle strengthen the people around the women and give them hope to follow Jesus in his life the promised me to join my group so their can be follow the word of God . I am very happy and give glory to God for what He has done

Today we met together, ten of us, for fellowship and encouragement in the word of God (HEBREWS 10:25) to strengthen one another in faith. It was a blessed moment time of fellowship. Everyone received holy spirit and speaking in tongues all glory to God for is work. We also talk about how we can find a place we can for worship so that we can fellowship every Sunday and the desire to grow in his word. One of our members has given us a place where we can build a small shelter. Now we are planning to prepare and build a small shelter so that it rains, we can still gather and worship without the rain falling on us🙏🙏🙏

This morning at 5.30 A.M., the man i told you about who used to steal joined us for our morning prayer. I was very happy to see him come and seek God. We ready the verses together and encouraged one another with the word of God and reminded him that God forgives and changes lives.
As we continued praying together the presence of God was very strong. I was so happy because during prayer the man began to speak in tongues as the Holy Spirit filled him..I see God is Going to change his life. All glory goes to God because He is able to transform anyone who comes to Him with a sincere heart... I believe this is the beginning of a new life for him in Christ 🙏🙏
(TESTIMONY)
Today i managed to visit i group of people who desire to hear the word of God .
I give all the glory to God for what he did this evening.we spent time like 2 hours in spiritual and praying and i tell them that anything that happens it's by God is power. During the pray time the Lord come in a powerful way. About 4 people the began speaking in tongues as the holy spirit touched them. And when we were continuing one man told me about how he had struggling with diseases for long time like 4 months ago we prayer together and God touched him. I am happy also the people we their were happy as the man received healing... The people the told me to tell them more about God and to grow in faith and serve God.

And the asked me if i have a church were the can come for worship bt i didn't have.
But we prayed together God to open the way so that we can have a place where this people we can gather and worship him. I am happy the way God us healed them man and many God touched them and the need the hear the word God more and the true power belongs to God who heals and fill people with holy spirit
