Thanks be to God for our Parish Assembly today, Sunday 31 May.

We began by gathering for Mass before moving to the hall at St Joseph’s Primary School for a day of prayer, reflection, listening and discernment. It was a blessing to hear people share the ways God has been at work in their lives and in our parish community.

A particular highlight was our two sessions of Conversation in the Spirit, where we prayerfully reflected on how we can become a more outward-facing parish, reaching out with the love and hope of Christ to those around us.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed so generously to the day. We are especially grateful to all the organisers who worked behind the scenes, to St Joseph’s Primary School for providing such a welcoming venue, and to Tony G and our catering team for ensuring we were so well looked after throughout the day.

In the coming weeks, our Walking Together Group will share the fruits of the discernment that has already taken place. We look forward with hope to seeing how the Holy Spirit will guide us as we continue to grow into the parish God is calling us to be.

Please keep our parish in your prayers as we continue this journey together.

Today the Church celebrates the Feast of Mary Help of Christians, honouring the Blessed Virgin Mary’s ongoing intercession and maternal care for all Christians.

In Australia, this feast holds special significance, as Mary Help of Christians is honoured as the nation's principal patroness. Under her care, the faithful entrust the Church in Australia, seeking her guidance and protection in every season of life and mission.

As we celebrate this feast, we ask for her prayers and guidance, that she may lead us ever closer to Christ.

Mary Help of Christians, pray for us.

Wellington Correctional Centre

Permanent Full-Time Role – 70 Hours a Fortnight (35 Hours per Week)

The Catholic Diocese of Bathurst is inviting applications for the role of Corrective Services Chaplain at Wellington Correctional Centre.

This permanent paid chaplaincy position offers a meaningful opportunity to provide pastoral and spiritual support within the correctional environment. It forms part of the Diocese’s ministry of presence to those living and working within the prison community.
