*|[Rulings on Zakat al-Fitr 4]|*

*Q: What is the ruling on Zakat al-Fitr?*

▪️The scholar Ibn Uthaymeen, may God have mercy on him, said:

Zakat al-Fitr is an obligatory duty, as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:

📚 Abridged Explanation of Bulugh al-Maram: (2/376)

*Q: Is it permissible to give the monetary value in Zakat al-Fitr?*

▪️The scholar Ibn Uthaymeen, may God have mercy on him, said:

No, giving the monetary value is not permissible in Zakat al-Fitr. The reason for this is that he said: “A sa’ of dates or barley.”

📚 Abridged Explanation of Bulugh al-Maram: (2/378)

*Q - What is the ruling on a father paying Zakat al-Fitr on behalf of his children?*

▪️The scholar Ibn Uthaymeen, may God have mercy on him, said:

A person is obligated to pay Zakat al-Fitr for himself. However, if he has a father, an older brother, or a husband, and they pay it on his behalf with his consent, then there is no harm in that.

📚 Fatwas of Nur Ala Al-Darb: (7/100)

*Q: Is Zakat al-Fitr obligatory for someone who is unable to pay it?*

▪️The scholar Ibn Uthaymeen, may God have mercy on him, said:

Is Zakat al-Fitr obligatory for someone who is unable to pay it, such as someone who does not possess a Sa’ (a unit of dry measure)? It is not obligatory for him. And does it remain an obligation upon him? The answer is: It does not remain an obligation upon him.

CTTO:

A mistake many Muslims make during the last 10 nights of Ramadhān:

1. Waiting for one specific night

Many people put all their energy into the 27th night.

But Prophet ﷺ told us to search for Laylatul Qadr in the last ten nights, especially the odd ones.

Which means someone who worships consistently may catch it…

while someone waiting for a specific night might miss it entirely.

2. Treating the nights like a schedule instead of a meeting with Allah.

People prepare long lists:

• 100 rakʿah
• multiple khatms
• long tasbih counts

But the goal was never numbers.

The goal is presence.

A short prayer offered with humility can outweigh hours of distracted worship.

Allāh does not need our quantity.
He looks at the sincerity behind it.

3. Ignoring dua.

Some people spend the entire night praying or reading but barely raise their hands to ask Allah.

Yet Prophet ﷺ taught a specific dua for Laylatul Qadr:

Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuḥibbul ‘afwa fa’fu ‘anni.
“O Allāh, You are Most Forgiving and love forgiveness, so forgive me.” (Tirmidhi)

These nights are an invitation to ask for everything:

• forgiveness
• guidance
• healing
• a changed future

Don’t leave the night without speaking to your Lord.

4. Forgetting the heart while focusing on the body.

You may stand in prayer physically…

but if the mind is distracted and the heart is distant, the night loses its depth.

The companions didn’t only worship with effort.

They worshipped with reflection, humility, and longing.

5. Thinking the reward is only for the strong worshippers.

Many people believe these nights are only for those who can pray all night.

But Allāh multiplies even small deeds.

A sincere dua, quiet dhikr, or a moment of repentance can carry enormous weight on these nights.

No one is excluded from Allāh’s mercy.

The tragedy of the last ten nights is not failing to stay awake.

The tragedy is being awake but distracted from Allah (SWT)

Ramadan Mubarak!!!

21/12/2025

🗓️ Today: _*1 Rajab 1447 هـ*_
21/12/2025

📚 Rajab is 1 one of the 4 Sacred Months:
*```Rajab, Dhu'l-Qa'dah, Dhu'l-Hijjah & Muharram```*

📚 Of course as you know, committing sin is forbidden in all months. However, transgressing the sacred limits during these 4 months is more grievous than at other times. Allah, may He be exalted, forbade us to commit sin during these months, as He says (interpretation of the meaning):
> *```{so do not wrong yourselves during them}```* ``` [at-Tawbah 9:36]```

💬 Al-Waahidi said in al-Baseet (10/409):
_```What is meant by sacred is that it is a very serious matter to transgress the sacred limits in these months, in a manner that is more serious than doing so at other times```._

📚 Allah, may He be exalted, says (interpretation of the meaning):
> *```Whoever honors the sacred ordinances of Allāh - it is best for him in the sight of his Lord.```* ``` [Al Hajj 22:30]```

💌 _So my dear sister & brother,_
_Let’s honour the sacred month of Rajab, by being more mindful of our actions and speech_
